Another Championship banner for the KW Predator Volleyball Club. The Predators Purple 17U Boys teams achieved their goal of becoming provincial champions. For the majority of the team, this was their second Ontario Championship. The first came when they played 15U. The team entered the tournament ranked 2nd. On Friday the athletes performed well, winning all 3 of their pool play matches and only dropping one set to Kingston Pegasus. On Saturday, the team performance was less stellar. After a straight 2 set victory to start the competition day, the team lost the next two matches to Georgetown and Durham. The team earned a 3rd place finish after pool play (finishing with 4 wins and 2 losses) requiring a pre-quarter (sweet sixteen) match on Sunday morning.

The elite eight match opponent was Mississauga Pakmen (number 1 tournament seed). Unfortunately, the team started by giving away the first set 19-25. The second set demonstrated their true character and desire to win. They beat Pakmen 25-21 and controlled the third set to win the match 15-11. The semis were against Georgetown Impact and the team was not going to let any team get in the way of achieving their goal of a gold medal They beat Georgetown 25-23 & 25-18. The gold medal match was against the Northumberland Breakers and the team showed a determined effort to complete the match in 2 straight sets 25-14 & 25-23. Thanks to all that watched and supported. The team plays an exhibition tournament at University of Waterloo and then onto Nationals in Toronto.
