Bronze for Ravage at 16U Provincial Cup
November 29, 2009
In the second tournament of the season, Ravage (KW Predators 15U Boys) came out with a spectaular showing once again playing up an age division in the 16U Provincial Cup in Stouffville. This tournament brought about some new elements to Ravage's play and the boys responded to the challenge amazingly.
First off Ravage faced out against Pegasus Segada making short work of the team from Kingston in straight sets (25-21, 25-9). Coming off of their great start Ravage faced off against the eventual champions the Lightning Bolts once again winning in two sets (26-24, 25-18). This placed Ravage in a battle against Pakmen 15U for the top spot in the pool with the victor securing a bye to the semi-final. Pakemen 15U had a very strong showing, proving that they will be a team not to be taken lightly this year, but succumbed to the consistent play of Ravage in three sets (16-25, 25-20, 15-11).
Securing a spot in the top four Ravage then had a re-match against the Lightning Bolts who ousted the younger Preds in a close three set match (22-25, 25-16, 12-15). This placed the Preds in a battle for the bronze, and they dully dispersed Pegasus 16U (21-25, 25-20, 15-6) to win their second medal of the season.
Well done gentlemen, continue your hard work and keep focusing on the game plan. Ravage competes again this coming weekend at the 15U Provincial Cup in Stratford.
