On the PA Day, Feb. 22nd, Quinton Richter represented Aberfoyle School when he took part in the competition for Guelph’s Fittest Kid at the Guelph soccer dome. His competitors were 11 other very fit grade 7/8 boys from 8 different Guelph schools.
Over a 2-hour period, they competed in 8 different events: obstacle course, 2.5 km run, 100m sprint, power hold, standing long jump, pushups, sit-ups and wall sit. Quinton placed 1st in pushups and power hold , and 2nd or 3rdin most of the other events.
After a high-energy morning, when most other kids his age had a chance to sleep in and relax, Quinton tied for 2nd, a mere 1 point behind a student from Kortright Hills School.
